What we do...
Equip
At Cherith Brook we believe in equipping fellow believers with the Word of God. The Bible tells us that the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword." (Hebrews 4:12) We aren't about big numbers - we are about changing hearts and discipling those who are hungry and thirsty to learn more about the Bible. One person at a time. Sometimes that means preaching to a large crowd. Sometimes it looks like one person in our living room staying for one evening, one day, one week, one month, or one year.
Encourage
We are about encouraging one another. The Bible says it best "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Galatians 6:2 The early church got together daily. Why? I believe to encourage each other; to strengthen one another in their walk with Christ. This world is tough. We all face difficult things, but we also have spiritual gifts to offer. Our focus is to build up. Strengthen. Encourage. So that we can face one more day.
Educate
Education is one of the things we do quite a bit at Cherith Brook. I teach and disciple out of our home and at our local church. Over the years I have come to realize that we never stop learning. Our goal is to shine Christ wherever we are. Sometimes we aren't allowed to share Christ, but we can live it. My wife just finished two years teaching in Mexico. Her love for teaching grew as she saw the students' faces light up when they understood what was being taught and owned it as their own. Matthew 5:16 says, "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in Heaven."
